The composition was the only thing I was really satisfied with in this shot.

However, it was of interest to me for another reason: as a result of the feedback to my "Halo Help" thread, I have set the D750 Picture Control to Neutral (applies "minimal processing") and will later try with Flat ("details are preserved over a wide tone range"). These reduce or minimise the in-camera processing. For now, the intention is to create a small library of varying shots and experiment with the PP settings.

Mind you, a good experiment should only change one thing at a time, and I'm still in the investigative phase of the Capture One +/- DxO Optics evaluation .
