    Hi DAve,

I trick I use for cloning blurred backgrounds is to choose the tone I want and clone it then I use the Healing Brush to smooth the transition.

Well, if we are into boasting sizes and weights... my Sigma 70-200 weighs in at 1,400g. I don't take any shots with it, I just use it for my free weights aerobic workout. But as I can only afford one of them, one arm is much bigger than the other.

    Thanks Peter,

I'll certainly be giving that a try, it sounds promising

UPDATE: Yep, that's a very good tip, I just had a quick play and it is far easier to soften the transition that way - thanks

    Cheers,

I've been trying to capture the intricacies of this flower for a couple of days. It wasn't until I gave up on the beautiful colour and focused on the structure that I was happy with the end product.

I've put the best of my October shots together in an album here. Well, they're what I consider to be the best.

This has been a very enjoyable and productive project.
Beautiful, Raylee. I think this is a prime example of what we've talked about in various threads vis a vis monochrome. You've really highlighted the pattern and texture that the repeating structures make. It helps us see what an amazing thing it is.

    Cheers,
    Rick

Brilliant shot, Peter - the green, with clean bokeh, makes a perfect background for the gray subject. And being a cat person, I love the expression. Would it be worth cloning out a little of the light color above kitty's head, to avoid distraction?

    Rick

Thanks for your comments Rick. She is a great subject, lots of expression and very cheeky. If I was to print this I would do as you say but as I took it for the PAD I will keep it and if I use it at any stage clean up the distractive bits. There is another shot of here at post 379 and her mate Mack just above.

A great pair! "Cheeky" is what I love about cats. I love dogs, because they love us unreservedly and want our approval. I love cats because we have to earn their approval.

    Cheers,
    Rick
