Hartwell tavern

A Revolutionary War-era tavern between Lexington and Concord, Massachusetts. The bloody retreat of the British regulars from the battle of Concord, on the first day of the revolution, passed in front of this building. The area is now a park, and this and several other buildings have been restored.

I like this image... There is a wonderful juxtaposition between the elegant and warm lines of the furniture piece (is that Cherry wood?) and the cold and functional building wall and door frame. Quite a stark difference and the light is hitting the table at just the right angle. I am not sure if I would or would not crop off the image left portion of the door frame, making the shadowed interior as the left border of the image.

My wife wants to visit the area again someday and I hope we can...

thanks. Interesting idea. I will play with that. This was my first edit, and I was hobbled by a few things that initially didn't work when I updated just now to lightroom cc "classic", so I didn't do as much as I might have.
