I don't use Capture One much, just for the occasional Sony file. However I just noticed that under Export Recipe Adjustments, if you select Sharpen for Print, the Radius setting is replaced by a viewing distance. This is consistent with earlier comments about what radius is based on.

I think that you may be looking for something that doesn't exist! Output sharpening is covered in the Capture One online guide here, which I'm sure you will have read.

However, if I understand your OP correctly, you are looking for an objective and quantitative guide to how to set it up. Dave's post (#21) is a good description of how it works for print output, but essentially it's a matter of how you wish to tweak your images to give what you consider to be the optimum output, whether it is for print or screen.

You have to do a number of trial and error runs, and then create a recipe from the set of adjustments that works best for you.

Ted the three sharpening options in Capture One are as follows

1. Details tab - this is the "main" sharpening adjustment for your master file

2. Lens tab - this allows for sharpening to counteract diffraction and sharpness falloff away from the centre of the lens

3. Export Images option - this allows for output sharpening (see my post 21) separate to the main sharpening adjustment.

So you find statistics interesting, therefore you will have noted that Teds ratio of Helpful Posts to Posts 935/3305 or approximately 28%. Your 1/12 works out at about 8%.
