Stoer Beach, thanks to DxO's PhotoLab

I've been working away at this image for a few weeks, never been satisfied that I was approaching what I planned for it.

I tried it again today with the help of the new DxO Photolab and the Local Adjustments and the Lens Sharpness and got what I wanted.

You may, of course, think what the fuss was all about as it's a rubbish image. But I managed to realise my vision for the image today.

Your comments will, as always, be welcome.

Nicely captured, are you still working on your experiment on cloud directions and their effect on the compositions dynamic impact?

I am John. Keen to see what effect different cloud directions can have upon an image.

I like the contrast of the three different textures: the rocks, water and wispy-ish clouds. It works well.

My recollection is that you've in the past used GIMP for pp. Is that still your basic tool?

I'm afraid that it is not.

The GIMP is a marvellous tool. However, I had software that, although not necessary, gave me a better experience when they were plugged in a host package.

A striking image. I am not normally a fan of black and white, but I am impressed with this, largely for the reasons expressed above.

Nice shot Donald. I almost wish the water didn't have quite so much texture to it though.

A striking image. I tend to agree with Alan--a tad too crunchy for my taste.
