    Sally

This is our new family member, Sally. She is 15 months old and a sweetie. She came to us with obedience training and a lot of socialization. So much for not getting a second dog.

Our little spaniel is away at "hunting school" so Sally got to sleep on the bed last night. She takes of a lot of space.

She's very cute, thank you for sharing. Try having a 60 pound Labrador (or two depending on the black labs wishes) sprawled across the bed

Wonderful dog - great choice, especially since she came with obedience and socialization.

These Bouvier des Flandres are difficult to photograph, because their eyes can be easily hidden except for a frontal shot at a low level.

These images might give you some ideas as per angles from which to shoot.

There was a totally inaccurate rumor that circulated in France during World War II that one of these dogs, serving with the French Army bit Adolph Hitler (who was in the German Army) in a very sensitive spot. At least this rumor, despite it being false, gave the Occupied French some humor in their lives...

Sharon, thanks for the nice comment. She's still a little shy around us but that will get better with time. Unfortunately we're in Minnesota now for a while in a small townhouse and there is nowhere for her to run. We'll be in Wyoming next month so she will have the big backyard to run in. And the little terror (Nikki) will be back to show her the ropes.

Agree with Richard in his comments, eyes are important not only in capturing people, but also with pets/animals . Many of the tips used in portrait shooting people also apply to especially pets that are domesticated .

Richard and Raymond, thanks for the tips. These are cool dogs. We are fortunate that an adult came along. She's still going to be a lot of work but her basic skills are pretty good. Our other one was not as big as this girl. My guess is that she is 70 to 75 pounds. Hopefully she is done growing.
