    A Little Autumn Sunlight

Another chance encounter with sunlight spilling through gaps in the clouds to highlight some autumn colour on the shores of Lough Tay, Co.Wicklow.

Reminds me of some of those rather moody paintings which the Victorians so loved.

Yes there seems to have been a tradition of shrouding the non or less essential parts of the composition in darkness which I suppose added a certain sense of mystery and a tension to the composition. I don’t recall thinking that through last Wednesday afternoon when I captured the scene but the image is edited to be pretty much as I ‘saw’ it at the time.

Many thanks Geoff for your feedback.

Neville, One of my favourite artists is Edward H Thompson who painted many water scenes in the lake district and Scotland. I think you've captured an excellent image that could easily have been one of said artist's works.
So, do you mind my accentuation of contrast to offer an alternative to your excellent image?

No, Tony, not at all. It certainly is an interesting alternative. Many thanks,

Thank you John, Bruce, Richard and Arno.

Richard, I know this will ring a bell with you. I have been missing from this forum for most of this year. Nursing my 14 year old labrador through serious illness restricted me as regards photography. Although she had medically recovered her arthritis, age and the beginnings of liver failure meant we finally had to say goodbye to her in September. Her quality of life was irreversibly gone.
We have great memories and lots of photographs some of which are on my website at http://www.ndukes.net/albums/rosie-the-labrador/

Wonderful light which you’ve captured very well Neville.
Sorry to read about your Lab, I’m sure you’ll have plenty of memories of when she was fit and healthy.

Many thanks Peter. You are right about Rosie. We have great memories which will always be with us. The Labs are really special in the way they want to please you. They also have a great talent to tease you also but in a nice way. Great memories to treasure.
