    Walking Shoes

I am attempting to create an image for the topic of "On The Move". My thought has been to show shoes walking with no legs or feet in them. I know in my mind what I am trying to portray but I am not sure if others will see this image as fitting the topic. Sometimes outside eyes see things differently so, here it is for your comments. Does this work? Should I try a different idea? Can I do something different with my thought?

Rita I think that the first pair of shoes on their own could be manipulated to get what you'r looking for

    1) Yes
    2) Possibly; this is a bit 'linear' and not (for me at least) making effective use of the image space
    3) Introduce depth too?

Further suggestions sorta depend upon exactly how you achieved this?

Works for me, you could try slow shutter speeds and have camera focused at point where foot will land; body should appear transparent or not at all.

If you plan to keep this sequence, I would crop to a panoramic format and heavily crop the top and bottom of the image. Stick with the shoes and get rid of most of the black areas.

    Thanks all for the feedback.

Dave, I did this by combining 3 images and getting rid of everything but the shoes.

John, I can try that tomorrow.

Roy, I looked at your suggestion and here is what I think you were saying but I included the first 3.

Manfred, appreciate your feedback. I have absolutely no explanation on why I left so much black.....I know better Here is the cropped version.

The second pic is by far much better with a clearer message. I do agree with Manfred and your results are terrific.

That's a very creative piece of work. Well done. The really good pictures are always made in your head. Getting the camera out is just to record what you've already thought about.; be that days, weeks or at the scene just before you shoot.

    +1 to Donald's comments.

The most important part of being creative is having a vision. It does take some time in thinking about it and planning on how to turn your vision into a finished piece.

PS - I like where you went with it in #8.

Donald and Manfred, thank you. I have lots of ideas in my head and I have great pleasure trying to figure out how to get them accomplished with my camera/pp. It usually involves learning something new to get the idea accomplished. Perhaps a different way of learning new techniques but it is so much fun.

The one suggestion I would make here is that you start with what you know and try to build on top of that. Learning is an incremental process.

So true Manfred. Learning is one step at a time.

    Re: Walking Shoes

The only problem I have with them is the heel 'n toe sequencing. It isn't natural.
