The rocky mountain bighorn sheep have returned to the valley floor of Jackson Hole Wyoming from their summer home in the high mountains. Two days ago a herd of fifteen ewes and lambs were on the National Elk Refuge. Yesterday these seven rams appeared. Within a week the rut will begin. The rams will start butting heads and pursue the ewes in heat. I plan to spend a fair amount of time observing and photographing this happening. Once the rut begins things get wild.
