I paid a brief visit here while my car was being serviced.

There were some Whooper Swans, none very close to the hides but these two obliged by flying past:





Lots of Greylag geese - this one really seemed to be intent on studying me (or perhaps it was trying to identify the lens). I'm not sure what the vegetation is at the right, perhaps a reed?






There were several small song birds around, including this Song thrush.

Excellent set of images.

Could may have removed what I think is a branch or grass come into the frame of the third image. I find it a bit distracting. Bit otherwise, three very fine pictures.

Thanks Donald. Yes, I know what you mean about the reed and thought about cloning it out but left it in as a talking point, namely it adds a not bird/not water element to the composition, emphasises the horizontal ripples in the water, and makes a right angle with the reflection of the goose head. But most of all, the @$*&?! bird just sat there looking at me and wouldn't move away from the weed .

Birds are a tricky subject so these have worked well. The only change I would make is a bit of crop plus clone on the last image to remove the larger bit of out of focus background in the bottom left corner.

I like all of these, for different reasons. I cannot make out what the 'vegetation' is in #2. It is certainly not a reed, perhaps some floating wood. The bird in #3 is a female Siskin.

Roy, I can see why you think that, but I had been watching the goose watching me for several minutes and it is some sort of floating debris, probably a cut reed.
