    Three more birds

Spent the day at Caerlaverock Wetland Centre yesterday. Here are three from the day:

First one is of a few of the thousands of Barnacle Geese that were there, taking off from the edge of a flock.

    Three more birds

Whooper swans are also there in abundance. This is a late evening shot of a pair in transit from one pond to another - a daily ritual.

    Three more birds

There are lots of non-aquatic small birds there too, and the robin was irresistible:

    Beautiful birds, nicely captured.

We have thousands of snow geese and trumpeter swans in the valley now. once weather cooperates i will go see if I can capture any of them. they gather by the thousands in the fields that are spread with corn in the winter.

Three nice shots. I think #2 is my favourite. There is a curious something to the right of the Robin's tail in #3. It is probably an out-of-focus branch, but it is distracting.

    Ole: Thanks
John: Thanks and yes there is and it is. I managed half a dozen or so robin shots on the day and liked the "red breast" feathers in this one the best.

Nice series Bill. Maybe tone down the bright areas in the background and add a little pop to the bird might might make it stand out a little more.

    Just my humble opinion.

John, I had a look at another shot taken just before this one and it's one of the tail feathers, on the side that was catching the afternoon sun. The "curious" is a result of where the bird's right leg is positioned.

Thanks Jim. Yes that would improve things, but still have the tail feather/leg oddity to deal with

Enjoyed the series, bill. Nothing to add to most of the pertinent comments above. Thanks for sharing.
