    Difficult subject but you have managed to avoid over exposure and retained good feather detail.

    Thanks Geoff, but the credit should really go to Mother Nature. This was taken in the late afternoon a few days ago, and the winter sun very low in a clear sky. The way that the golden light caught the swan was too inviting to miss, with the bonus that the softer light and reduced contrast between bird and background made it easier to get the feather detail.

    +1 to all above, but I am intreagued by the colouration of the reflection. Anyone any ideas?
