    Here's how it works ...

    - You good folks post images in the thread (please change your post title to a name for your picture)

    - When we get 10 images we will attach a voting poll

    - After 3 days the poll closes and the winner is declared!

    - If you would especially like some critique after the competition poll closes, please make it known in the post

    Too easy eh?

Limit of 1 image per post, and 2 image posts per person.

If there are already 10 in the current comp, please start a new thread in this forum

I didn't mention it when I entered this but I would really like some C&C. I had a choice between this one:

    Photo mini competition #132

    or, this one:

    Photo mini competition #132

I chose the first one because the dewdrops were so illuminated and clear and that was the point but I really went back and forth. I would love your thoughts! There are specific things that I'm wondering about but I think that I will just see if you bring them up. Is that okay? Thanks, in advance! I sure do appreciate your input.

Well, the voting figures tell their own story - poeple liked it. So, that's a good start.

You write, "There are specific things that I'm wondering about but I think that I will just see if you bring them up." I wonder if one of them is depth-of-field or another maybe the focal point.

The most interesting element of this image, for me, is that 'v' shape (two sides of a triangle) created by the drops hanging from what, i assume, are probably spider threads. I wonder what it would have been like if all of that was in focus? It may not have worked at all. But I do wonder ...!

You don't give us the shooting info, particularly the aperture setting. I think I feel that there's too much not in focus, but others may totally disagree (which is fine).

I'm used to debating alternative points of view. I'm just home from speaking at a conference today where another speaker (a university lecturer in sociology) and I totally disagreed about where our (Scottish/UK) society has positioned itself in relation to the protection of children from abuse and neglect. I think the audience enjoyed the 'lively debate' that took place during the closing Q & A session.

Your scaring me now Katy....that sounds very like what WireVixen would be thinking in an argument. Its usually followed by "Typical, you have been with me for 26 years and you still can't read my mind. I bet that nice man Johnny Depp could read my mind!" To which I usually reply "Ok Ok the red one looks better"

Donald, I don't know why but I can feel it in my bones that you would have had the better argument.

    Re: Mellow Yellow

Okay, Donald, one of my questions was where the focus was but I never even thought of DOF.

The info on the photo is f13 1/25 -0.67 exposure compensation. 55mm spot metering ISO200 (because of the wretched breeze)

The info brings up one of my other questions. Is the photo too grainy? I put the exposure compensation down because I wanted to make sure that I didn't clip any of the saturated color - it was intense. What do you think of the color? Opinions, please, if you're willing: is the first or second better?

Oh, I've given up on that game. My husband is so pitifully bad at it that it brings no pleasure - only pain!

I tend to agree - especially if the lecturer's had no experience (that just always drives me crazy!) Of course, we're all on your side - whatever it is.
