Nice -- I like it too, very much. A most unusual perspective.

    Thanks for your kind comments.
It goes back to what I try to drill repetitively through my students' thick skulls...and Rob touched on it the other day...sometimes, it's good to go back the same way you came, to see what you missed the first time.

Very nice effect Chris. It makes me wonder what else can be done with 'physical' textures.

Steve, the composition of your shot is spot on. I quite like the effect but I think the problem here is that it is so subtle my eyes just see an oof image until I look really closely. I would be interested to see what others say about this one

I agree Steve that the texture is a bit too subtle.

Steve S - be brave. Maybe apply more texture to the flowers and the background and leave the butterfly as is? Or introduce a different texture as a frame? Just some ideas to play with.

    Who is it?

I had the opportunity to do a bit of a shoot in an old building we sometimes park beside. A procession of students goes through this place on a temporary basis and without fail, girls or guys, they ALL leave the upstairs light on at night. I wondered why....

Nice image Kit. It has a message, a mystery
It makes us wonder what is going on there or what is going to happen next.

Thanks, Antonio. You got it in one...

Chris, I do like the framing - very clever idea.

But since others are putting depressing pics up, bet you can't beat this. I only had a jpeg and so far I don't get how to work towards something but I think the smoke and glass do it.

    Dear Steve,

It says it all. Raw and very expressive portrait.

I hope you get over it

Very nice Elise! It has an other-worldly feel to it.

    "Still Life"

This is one I'm thinking of entering in a local club competition. I don't think anyone there really "does" textures, so it might be a bit of a mind-bender for them. We'll see.

I like it, Kit -- I like the composition as well as the texture work. Let us know how it goes over with your group!
