Love this. The flowers glow out of that subtle vintage looking background. Nice to have come home from a "horrible light" day and to produce this.

That's an interesting one, Antonio. I think I can see multiple overlays there. It has a somewhat surreal feel to it. Three stars.

I've always loved the look of well textured and tinted photos and have long been curious as to how it was done... I've just very recently learned so am thrilled to be experimenting with it, mainly on isolated flowers. The other day as I was adjusting my aperture for a shot, this mallard swam into my frame and sat for a moment staring at me, I think he wanted his picture taken, so I obliged - and produced a fairly sharp but overall boring shot of a duck in the water. After some adjustments to contrast and tone to give an aged look but still highlight the green of his head and the addition of a layer of vintage paper, I'm much happier with mr. mallard.... and very glad to see this thread, there are some wonderful works in here that inspire me to keep working at it

Antonio, as an assignment for a Photoshop class I'm taking, I have to make a collage. I'm going to study up on your creations before I get started --

Yes, 3 stars is the correct and honest classification.

    Hi Antonio

I've just caught up with this one. I'd love to see a larger version. I like the feel of it and the shadow of the chair leads the eye to the chair. I think without the shadow, the chair would be lost in the rocks.

    Another top shot from you!

    @ Elise
To make a collage I think you have to know very well how to select. I know very little of this matter.

Raylee I thank you for your comment. I have edited the post number 302 so you can see the image larger, but as I said before it is nothing but a 3 start picture/composition.

Of course, we can't please anyone and if you like it, so much better and I am happy about it

The chair was abandoned on the pear as well as the fishing nets. I found it's shadow would make something interesting as the Sun was low. Later, I merged this photo with another one of the ripples of the sea and here we are.
I also made some adjustments and played with the blending modes.
    Thank you Raylee

That day I also shot these images. I thought they are so beautiful that I decided to make a tryptic out of them. Do you like this ?

Stunning Antonio! I like the triptych very much. When this page was loading, I got a glimpse of it and I thought 'that looks good but have patience to look at it properly'. My immediate reaction was impressionism. You've captured the light the way the impressionists did and I love it! Monet's water lilies springs to mind. Absolutely wonderful!

This is a pic of one of my favorite things... a birdfeeder that hangs outside my bedroom window.

I find I can't keep up with these large, multi-threads and, as a result am losing out on seeing an awful lot of wonderful work. But the title 'Metropolis' caught my eye in the Latest Threads list and in I came and am glad I did so. That is a beauty, Raylee. A very powerful and well constructed image, with an abstract quality about it. I found myself having to consciously note that it's a large building and not a piece of art focusing on line, tone and shape (or maybe the architect thought that anyway!).

And as I scroll up this page, I can see so many other examples of high, high quality work. I promise I'll try to keep looking in and commenting.

Thanks Donald - your comments are much appreciated. This is one of my favourite threads because there are some very talented people posting here. They provide me with a lot of inspiration.

This photo was taken months ago and I really like it. Then Elise mentioned somewhere in the last couple of days Shadowhouse Creations so I investigated. Lovely textures and this uses one of them. Thanks for the tip Elise!

Beautiful, Raylee -- both pictures are beautiful. The perspective in the one of the building is fabulous -- I'm so intrigued by what that is, way up at the top. And very nice work on the tulip. I think Jerry Jones (Shadowhouse/SkeletalMess) is the best of the free textures, and he's very generous -- always coming up with new ones. I love some of his canvas ones -- they're great.

Antonio, great triptych. I agree with Raylee's comments. And I'm really not good at selection either, so I'll have to work very hard on that collage. Here's one I did a while back -- first attempt at anything like this --

This is a good work Elise
Perhaps the face is a bit too bright if we look at the top right... I am not sure about it. It looks like so in my monitor.
The concept is pretty good I would like to see more versions Elise ...

I have played around with textures for some time now, having taken inspiration from many examples on THIS SITE
    My own offering is below.

I love these examples and I hope there will be many more. I have just started using textures, thanks to Raylee. I would like to add my own and any feedback would be great. I haven't explored the site very much but I hope to find some time to explore this weekend.
