Grab Shot at ISO 640
I was playing with my new Canon 6D Mark ii when I saw Lucy (a Maltese + Terrier mix) sitting on the couch. She looked more relaxed than during my formal portrait session so I snapped her picture. I think that the results at ISO 640 are pretty good...
Canon 6D Mark ii, EF 50mm f/1.8 Mark-1 lens. 1/60 second at f/4

Is she ever cute. And all those triangles she brings to your composition, how sweet of her.

Re: Grab Shot at ISO 640
I am glad that I kept a couple of lenses that I had planned to sell. The 50mm f/1.8 Mark 1 and the 40mm f/2.8 Pancake were redundant because I have a 17-55mm f/2.8 IS lens for my Canon 7D. However, these two lenses are nice combinations with the full-frame 6D Mark ii. I also have a Tokina 12-24mm f/4 ATX lens which was designed for crop cameras but which has an EF mount. This lens will work on full frame cameras when I have the focal length no wider than about 17mm. At wider than about 17mm, there will be vignetting of a full frame image.
I thought of all of this compatibility before I purchased the 6D Mark ii. I used my 5D Mark ii only with my 70-200mm f/4L IS lens for dog portraits. However, at a recent Renaissance Festival, I began to use the 70-200mm on my 5D2 for portraits of the reenactors. I liked the combination but wanted a camera with a bit more sophisticated auto focus system. I am selling the 5D Mark ii and a 7D. I expect to get pretty close to what I paid for the 5D Mark ii. I will probably be able to unload the 5D2 for about $700 or $750 and my 7D for $400 or $450. I paid $1348 after a rebate for the 6D2m Canon Battery Grip, extra charger with two third party batteries, 64GB memory card, Canon Pixma Pro 100 Printer and 50 sheets of Canon 13x19 inch Semi Gloss Photo Paper.

Re: Grab Shot at ISO 2,000
they are great shots!
I was thinking that it would be nice to get another camera, one to join my Nikon P900. I would like to take portraits of people and dogs so I was interested in the cameras that you referred to. Photography is still a new language to me though and I can't really follow a discussion on the specifics of different cameras. Perhaps a trip to the camera store is in order where I can try out a few and pick up on the terminology.

Catherine...
A DSLR is quite a bit more versatile over a bridge camera. However, OTOH, a DSLR "outfit" is a lot heavier and a lot more expensive.
