Not going to work out well

I am not sure what the intention was here, I suspect either the house was to be moved or the foundation shored up . However digging out the foundation under half the house and leaving it hanging over the pit all winter is probably not going to do wonders for the structure .

I guess at one time it seemed like a good idea. Didn't look all that hard. Just think of the future photo opps as the structure goes through its death throes.

Interesting series, Trevor. I particularly like the middle one. Here in New Zealand if such a house is going to be moved by road, then generally cut it in half.

I was waiting for the sun to swing a bit more to the west, to light the shadowed side a bit more. But I had to get back for my grandson's birthday party. My family accepts my quirks, but that may be pushing the issue.

I showed this to a friend. He thinks they are going to burn the house this winter and push the debris into the pit. A bit sad for me but makes sense really for the set up.

I'm still trying to work out how they dug the hole. Was there a little man with a big shovel in the hole shouting 'Don't let it fall'?

One would hope it was with a backhoe. However if beer and testosterone were involved, all bets are off.
