    Finding out shutter speed??

    Hello all,

I am a total newbie when it comes to cameras. I have a pretty good camera (canon EOS 750d) and have recently enrolled in a photography for beginners course so I can learn the basics and get the best out of my camera.

What I would like to know (this might be a silly question??) is how do I find out my shutter speed?

    Thanks in advance :-)

    When making the shot -
Left-hand bottom display of the viewfinder: the first numbers are indicative of the Shutter Speed

Having made the shot, with card still in camera -
On the LCD using Image Review, Detailed Information - the middle bar contains the Shutter Speed

Having made the shot - file transferred to computer -
Read EXIF data for the Image File

For the first two see pages 29 and 307, respectively of the EOS 750D Instruction Manual.

    Hi there,

Warm welcome to the CiC forums from me.

Could you do me a favour please?
Could you click Settings (right at the top),
    then Edit Profile (on left)
and put your first name in the Real Name field
and where you are (roughly) in the Location field,
then click the Save Changes button below and to right,
this helps everyone give you more personal and relevant answers - thanks in advance.

For learning the basics, you can do far worse than have a read through the tutorials on this site.

    For example:
    Concepts and Terminology
    and
    Using camera equipment

But as Bill says, don't be afraid to ask, we don't bite

    All the best,
    Dave
