    More downtown Ottawa shots

A few more shots I took on December 25.

    1. Centre Block of the Canadian Parliament Buildings and the Peace Tower. with the Sound & Light show ongoing. The edges of the skating rink on the East Block lawn as well as the lights for the New Year's celebrations can be seen in the shot as well.

There is too much going on this year to get the shot that I wanted. I'm shooting with my back to the trailer that projects the Sound & Light show.

    2. Centennial Flame - the plaque for Canada's newest territory, Nunavut was finally installed this year. A few brave people at thinking about staying warm... The trailer behind the flame is where the Sound & Light show projectors are located.

    3. The National War Memorial of Canada and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

All the things on the right hand side of the first two pictures are the skating rink, so it blocks a clear view of the lights on Centre Block. For the first shot, I'm standing on the other side of the trailer, with my back almost touching it and shooting with a 24mm shift / tilt lens. so without the rink and Canada 150 "stuff" it's usually a pretty easy shot. Not this year...

The War Memorial is an easy shot and a fairly short walk (about one city block) from where I parked the car.

Once you get that hip of yours taken care of, I expect you might enjoy shooting it.

If you enlarge the War Memorial it looks like you've some dust on your sensor. Left of the wing.
