A 400mm focal length on a crop frame camera certainly helps. We were almost 20m / 60 ft away from the bear and out on the water, so she did not see us as a threat.

Back to India and Holi; the Hindu Festival of Colours that is held in the spring of the year.

This shot of a young boy, surrounded by others celebrating Holi, was taken during the finale of the festival in the temple in Nandgaon, India. This was tough shooting as both gugal powder and coloured dye was sprayed everywhere, as one can tell by looking at the orange colours everywhere. My camera was completely covered in a rain hood and all the clothing I was wearing were thrown out after I finished shooting that day.

Manfred, I love the grizzly photo, particularly with the bear's nonchalantly munching on grass hanging out its mouth.

This is a shot of the overnight train from New Delhi to Amritsar being shunted into position at the platform. I was trying to use the train as an environment portrait of the conductor sitting in his compartment.

New Delhi station is the busiest train station in India, handling some 400 trains per day with some 1.7 million passengers per day on 16 platforms.

This is my 52nd print of the year and in reality I could easily have posted close to 200 pictures this year as I have been printing at least three images a week and sometimes more. I will post one more before the end of the year. These prints are all nicely stored in boxes and separated by a thin, archival glassine paper.

Your most recent image well deserved being printed. And congratulations on having managed to print so many of your photos!

This is the last print I will be posting. While I have posted 53 images that I printed this year, my actual output is much higher; well over 200 prints. I think I inspired a few members to print and so far as I know only John (Shadowman) printed at least one image a week.

I'm not going to pursue a Print 52 program for 2019 on CiC next year, but expect to continue to printing at the same pace as this year. For those of you that have never printed, you might want to consider doing so. A print is a lot more interesting to look at than looking at an image on a screen. All those megapixels you paid for on your camera are there to make prints rather than downsample to around 2 MP when you post on the net.

I'm hoping to take a couple more printing courses in 2019 and with a bit of luck they will be offered later on this year.

My final posting is the one image that has a lot of meaning for me. It is my father (who turns 95 in less than 3 weeks) and my grandson who was 2 when this shot was taken. It wasn't a great setting, but having the oldest and youngest family members together in one shot has a lot of emotional impact for me and my family.

Nice image to round out your Print 52, the printing endeavor was a fun and educational way to expand on my photography skills.
