Re: 2018 Print 52 Shadowman P24 Summer Storm
Great shot, John. The sepia treatment gives the grand old church the age appearance it deserves. A prestigious Delaware Av church, with many old Buffalo families as members. Have been inside many times.
And there's my building to the right again . . .
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Zen,
Thanks for commenting, interestingly I had an encounter with a security guard at that building, I was standing on the side steps photographing a road race and he came out of the building and said "excuse me sir I hope you are not photographing my building?", when I told him I was only photographing the building he said "have a good day" and went back inside. One of only a few instances where I've have security guards both refer to their work assignment in the possessive and been questioned or asked to move along.
Re: 2018 Print 52 Shadowman P24 Summer Storm
I don't recall having security guards in the building during my time there except on special days when something unusual might occur. But times have changed, and security needs have changed with them. The building houses a hardened concrete and steel vault, but unusual to have any large amounts of cash there.
One of the issues was parking, and being a volunteer organization, parking must always be available for volunteers when they have the time to come in. Special events in the neighborhood meant spectators jammed the few parking spaces available, so guards were posted to control that issue. Maybe it was the race that was bothering the current management?
Still, John, a nice shot of the church. I like church architecture, and that's one of the nice ones in the city.
Thanks again for sharing your work.

Hi John - this one is a treat! The expressions definitely indicate how the water feels. I really like this one! Also I think it is probably more distinctive in B/W than it would have been in color! Perfect! :)

Hi Sandy,
Thanks for the comments.

Re: 2018 Print 52 Shadowman P29 "Art is Where You Find It"
Both printed on Epson Glossy. I processed in black and white only because I thought the background artworks might distract from the subject but as I viewed each print I don't think they do.

Hi John - The photo finished in color wins for me especially since the lady's outfit is a shade of white/hair is dark - which does cause her to stand out a little bit.
My curiosity wonders if she is looking at her device because of messages (ug) or maybe the art museum has a map program indicating who the artists are and where to find their work in the displays. :)

Hi Sandy,
Or she could be planning to photograph the artwork, thanks for commenting.

So true! I hope she captured excellent photos! :)
Re: 2018 Print 52 Shadowman P30 McKinley Monument Circa 1907
My subject was the building in the back (City Hall, 1931) and I sort of overlooked the immense structure immediately in front. I'm so used to seeing them together that I was concentrating on the government building and just getting it all in frame with the camera at hand. Printed on Epson glossy 8.5" x 11.0".

Re: 2018 Print 52 Shadowman P31 Flower and Stone
Hi John - I like the flowers in front of the monument in P31 because it looks like a tribute to that monument! :)
I wasn't especially drawn to P30. It is sad that the builders stuck the immense structure where they did. I'd think it would be difficult capturing City Hall in detail with it there unless there is plenty of room between it and City Hall to maneuver for a photo?
These are interesting photos and I enjoyed checking them out! :)

Hi Sandy,
Thanks for commenting, regarding P30 yes you would need an UWA to capture all of the structure if you are standing at the base of monument in front.
