Brown Phoenix by JOHN, on Flickr
Hi John - Will you frame and display these together? I am drawn to #141 because it shows more detail but I like them both! It is interesting how you highlighted the brown but treated the rest in monotones.
Sandy,
I've been thinking about your suggestion of framing a few of the Phoenix shots together and have been looking for a third which would be a little bit different from the other two. I thought this might be a viable option, what do you think? Printed on the same Canson Platine paper.

Hi John - I really like the way this one sets up with her facing toward the audience! And the coloration of her feathers - Wow. I'm also glad you included the skin tone to complement the other two photos. It is a wonderful addition to the group - in my humble estimation!
This print is more of a salute to a wonderful summer and an expected good continued year. Printed on Moab 11" x 17".

John, I love this image even though I'm looking at only on a screen, not a large print. You've captured a lot of fun and laughter!
The scene does look like fun! I like the reflections in the water too.

I enjoy watching sea gulls. You definitely caught a good one of this fellow! I also like the print with the added border.
I thought I'd throw in a seasonal theme within my Print 52 series.
halloween by JOHN, on Flickr
Printed on single weight matte paper, 8.5" x 11.0".
I was photographing a Halloween themed 5K race which started around 7:30 PM and the starting line was within a sort of urban box canyon of buildings, some were lit, some weren't. So my camera settings were based on available light (I also used manual flash), shutter speed (1/200s) to freeze the runners, and amount of noise (ISO 1600) I was willing to live with for the shot. During the editing stage I opened up the shadows quite a bit.
This is a fun image, a night time 5k Hallowe'en race! From my perspective, your choice of shutter speed, etc. worked well.
