Mark - While I like the concept, I have to question the exposure here. When I take this shot into Adobe Camera Raw, I see this:

    Got the Blues

The blue shows areas where there is no shadow detail and in this case, it appears to be most of the image. There is a bit of red here and there showing where the whites are being clipped (specular highlights). I think this image would work better with a bit more light that opens up the reflection on the plexiglas (?) surface a bit more.

It is under exposed. The surface is glass painted black on the bottom side.
I need to set up in a better spot So I can do a better job. Thanks Manfred

So this is natural light? Typically shots like these (this is effectively a product shot), are due using artificial light so that the light levels, direction, intensity, etc. can be controlled precisely. For a part this small, as long as one is shooting with a tripod, exposure times become irrelevant and static (reflector) or active (powered lights) all come into the mix.

The good part is We moved 1800 miles last September and bought a fixer-upper house. This spring/summer I will get the back bedroom for a 13'X13' studio. I haven't hardly touched the camera for almost a year getting ready for the move.
