I haven't had a chance to take anything new so far this year, but had a look at some archived shots to keep the "52" moving along.
The first one of a Chaffinch that has not been aired much as it's a bit static, but I like the colours and detail:
The second (a soldier beetle on a thistle bud) is also one I like a lot and have posted here long ago. I used it as an entry in my club's Nature and Wildlife comp earlier this year but the judge was unkind enough to muse on whether it was a specimen I had frozen and the missing antenna had been broken when I posed it on the thistle. Not satisfied with that, he went on to suggest I should have edited it in by cloning from the existing one - an action that is not allowed in the competition rules! However, I couldn't resist trying it ...
