2018 Project 52, first quarter by Lindsay (CormacD)

Well it is over year since I last posted and I have had uninspiring year photography wise. I want to get back on track, be motivated and improve. I have just read through all of the other Project 52 2018 members postings and comments and believe that getting back into Cambridge in Colour will help me and I hope I can be of some help to others.
This year I am planning quite a lot of travel within Australia and will be sharing some of my photos through this forum. The travel will not be starting for a few weeks so in the meantime I will try some local challenges.
Yes I know I am a couple of weeks late starting but I will catch up.

    G'day Lindsay and welcome back!

I'll be not too far away from you in a few weeks, visiting our daughter and family in Margaret River - your second image reminded me to try and get some nice sunrise/set images (but I may well be hiding from the heat in the day-light hours).

Is that water oxygenator running for long hours? Noisy in the neighbourhood? is that a fish farm?
Nice Sunset image; it has feeling in it

Good clear shot from what looks like a tricky exposure in the first image. Just one slight thought, clone out that small item in the bottom right corner.

And the same thing for the smaller group of branches hanging down from the top in #2

Thanks, Bill. Hope you have a pleasant family visit. Margaret River summer weather usually has a few mild days so I reckon you should survive.

Hi Nandakumar, yes it does run for long hours, but fortunately only a couple of times each summer. It's a canal that joins an estuary. Yes have to be quick to catch these colourful sunsets.

Thanks Geoff, yes, I agree, that would tidy them up. I have new software and couldn't quite work out how to do it in a hurry. Work in progress...cheers....Lindsay

Week 3 2018 Project 52, first quarter by Lindsay (CormacD)

Went for a club walk on the beach at Rockingham on Thursday afternoon. The water is called Cockburn Sound and we walked up to the grain loading facility (wheat).

    Week 4 & 5 2018 Project 52, first quarter by Lindsay (CormacD)

Not very experienced at night photos but had to have a go at the lunar thing last night. Also threw in a sneaky little spy shot across the canal to some neighbours. Next week we'll be holidaying at a nearby beach for a few days and hope to get some good shots.

Hi Lindsay. I too am struggling to get back 'in the flow' of postings. I don't worry about maintaining a once a week posting, I just post when I can and do my best and try to look at as many postings from other members as I can. Keep working at it!

Thanks for your encouragement, Joe. I'm certainly hoping to get plenty of material when we head off on our holiday across the Nullarbor Plains and then up the Red Centre. Just not sure about internet coverage until I get there.

Dunno about the Nullarbor Lindsay, but should be lots of opportunities when you get to the Red Centre. Look forward to seeing them.

Yes I think you are right, thanks Bill. The highway goes fairly close to the coast and some cliffs along the Nullarbor so may get something there.

March Golden Hour 2018 Project 52, first quarter by Lindsay (CormacD)

Went for a walk along the Mandurah Estuary foreshore on Thursday hoping to get some good golden hour/sunset shots. Unfortunately the walk was with my walking club and they move along fairly quickly and not very sympathetic to people like me who should really be using a tripod and getting a mixture of exposures. So I took a couple of quick snaps and the sky is a bit blown out, but colour is fairly good I think.

Wannanup March Golden Hour 2018 Project 52, first quarter by Lindsay (CormacD)

Went for a cruise in a friends boat on Friday across the estuary to Wannanup, a suburb of the City of Mandurah in Western Australia. Wannanup is a narrow strip of land on the coast with the Indian Ocean on the west, the Harvey Estuary on the east and the Dawesville Cut on the south. Here are a few samples:

    G'day Lindsay

Did you manage to get some keepers from the trip?
