Hi Jim,
I like the composition and subject, but am distracted by the CA (Chromatic Aberration), although I accept many may not notice; my old broadcast TV background means these things really 'scream' at me
I see you used LR 6, I'd have expected that could fix it, if correction were enabled, and perhaps with a bit of fine tuning to amounts and colour range.
HTH,
Dave
Awesome. Nicely seen and captured.
I think you need to get rid of the leaves intruding on the right side frame. Also, I wonder if one of the vertical lines in the middle of the frame should be made vertical?
Thanks Dave - there was, as you pointed out some strong turquoise chromatic aberration. I had a go with getting rid of it with Affinity Photo and then with Lightroom. I did get rid of some but not all. In the end I had to resort to cloning which worked very well.
Trev - am not sure what tower it is. I took quite a few similar of different buildings, however it is not the ANZ one.
Greg, thanks for pointing that out - I hadn't noticed and have now got rid of the leaves. Will have a look at the verticals though off-hand I don't think it would work.
It's not hard to make the center pillar vertical. I did that in photoshop. (Select the ruler tool, draw a line through the middle that should be vertical, and then pick image-rotate-arbitrary.) However, the tilt was large enough (around 10 degrees) that you lose a fair amount. In addition, since the real center is the diagonal to the left of that, it still looks of-center. I'll paste it below. Will have a look at the verticals though off-hand I don't think it would work.
I wear glasses and can't easily see the edge of the viewfinder, which makes my tendency to tilt images worse, unless I take the time to use the built in level in my camera. To compensate, I often frame loosely, which gives me room to lose material around the sides if I straighten in post.
I really liked this
