    Abstract

Was out for a drive this fall in the Okanagan Valley Of British Columbia. Without a camera. The afternoon sun was shining on these grape vines and my wife was quite taken with the colours. By the time we got home the sun angle was all wrong. The next day was cloudy and too dull. We only had one more day before heading home and I was fortunate to be able to get the shot she wanted that afternoon. Unfortunately , from the best angle there was a major problem; I would have to stand in the middle of the highway. These were the best alternative

This is not my usual forte, so I am open to any ideas to enhance. Or whether they should be placed in the depths of the archives; never to seen again by human eyes.

A nice idea, Trevor, and I have tried similar subjects myself. But my experience has been that you either need a definite foreground subject or go wide enough to show a bigger scene in a more conventional style.

To me, this looks more like a close up of an abstract carpet design.

I think you hit the nail on the head. I was puzzling over why this did not seem to work and I think lack of context plus "fuzziness" is just too confusing.

The ideal angle was with the rows of vines well defined. I elected not to stand in the middle of a busy highway for the shot. I know this reflects poorly on my devotion to the craft.

To me this leans more towards pointillism however it also has a close relation to abstract art. Consider rotating to see if something jumps out at you.
