Helpful Posts: I never could get more than an orange blob with my 18/55mm lens. My problem is with the movement. A delicate web attached to easily moved plants. I needed the flash and that meant a seriously darkened bg.

Really excellent image Brian. How big is this little creature? I can see about what you mean about a more than a passing resemblance to a Sith lord. How did you light it in the end: with a double light sabre?

I would expect that a makeup artist could do a lot worse than researching close up face sots of various insects for characters in a Star Wars type film...
