Ian - Lovely colours - what is the purpose of the tower? Does it look slightly off vertical to you?

I would venture to suggest that is a good reason to celebrate fall, I'm not keen on winter - I have managed to avoid it for the last 4 years!

Great colour. I must admit I love fall. It is my favourite season. However; winter? I am striving valiantly to try and regain my affection for it as it is by far the dominant season in my bit of the world. So far I have advanced to grudging tolerance. From teeth gnashing hatred, so some improvement.

I'm with Trevor on this one (and winters are worse in his part of Canada than in the part I live). Nicely said, I love fall. Nice colours, pleasant temperatures, very few stinging or biting insects and of course a very short period of beautiful colours. Late fall is not so great and I'm one of those people who tolerate (?) rather than enjoy winter.

As tomorrow is the last day of January, at least we know that spring is coming and April (and spring) is just a few more months away.

Nice shot. But I'm with Trevor and Manfred. About 6 weeks of real winter would do me fine. Around here, a serious winter looks more like this (well, to be fair, it was a particularly hard one):

I think I would crop just a little tighter at the top, Ian, and the same amount from the right side to retain the current size ratio. That tower is vertical.

Lovely colors. Fall is definitely my favorite time of year.

A couple of times in the past we've hit fall three times. September in AK, mid-October in New England or Smoky Mountains, and then November on the Carolina coast or desert southwest.
