    Blood Moon shot with Fujifilm S4200 at 24x

    The moon was playing peek-a-boo with the moon and I was using the Fujifilm. Translation, not much detail but some fine colour. I was shooting right up to the totality so there may be some more shots tomorrow

    ISO 64 ~ shutter speed 8 seconds ~ F/5.9

    Lovely color. I plan to shoot the moon tonight. I hope that the mist doesn't roll in from the ocean to obscure the shot!

    good luck. With two volcanoes pumping up smoke and ash our red was really red.

    Nice photo. Around here they call tonights moon a blue moon, but all we'll be seeing is rain.

    actually, it is both. Blue because it is the second full moon of the month, Red because during a total lunar eclipse the moon appears red because of the light from the sun passing through the earths atmosphere.

    Ah Brian there you have one over on us in NZ. Because some bright spark said that because the moon was going through its eclipse after midnight for us, making it February, we could not call our view a blue moon. My feeling is that since it came up over the horizon before that we can, but in the end we couldn't see it anyway because we had 0 visibility...

    We are not in line for such sights tonight and anyway, we have plenty of cloud!

    Did grab a partial solar eclipse a couple of years ago though and created a ….blue sun
