    View from Omana

As I took this photo I thought that the colours were almost surreal. I have tried to recapture that as faithfully as possible (plus a vignette). Thoughts?

    Hi Jim:

I know that light and it seems to me you have captured it really well.

Not quite like that at the moment though...

It is surreal, even the road glows.

If it reminds you of what you saw who are we to say differently, nicely captured.

Nice shot, Jim. I think you need to feather the vignette a bit more as the transition is quite noticeable.

The general "rule" that applies to most vignettes is that if the viewer notices them, they are too strong and need to be cut back. That certainly seems to be the case here.

You seem to have done justice to the colors on the grass. With low sun side or backlighting it can seem to glow sometimes and that is well represented here. Regarding potential improvements, others have already mentioned the overdone vignette. Also IMO the sky either needs some work done on it or crop the image into a wider format with some of the sky removed. Maybe bring the horizon up to the 1/3 line.

    Much better without the vignette.

Those two minor tweaks have produced a far stronger image.
