Helpful Posts: No pelican activity today so I got down on the (wet)sand with some sanderlings. For those not familiar with them the first shot with the bubbles gives a sense of scale. For anyone who has walked on east coast USA beaches they are the little whitish birds most people call sandpipers that run up and down just ahead of the waves.

Thanks for commenting, folks.
I think the origin may have been "little bit of...". To describe something small people would say "that's just a little bit of a bird". Over time "little bit of" became "little biddie" then "iddie biddie" and now in the days of textonyms, edbd.
