    Keyboard Shortcut for FILL comand

I like to use keyboard shortcuts whenever possible in Photoshop CC.

I use the lasso command quite often because, combined with content aware fill, it is the easiest way for me to remove the dog leash used to restrain my subjects in my rescue dog portraits.

Obviously the keyboard shortcut for the Lasso Tool is L

Once I have the area selected with the Lasso Tool, I will want to use content aware fill.

From my research the keyboard shortcut for FILL is SHIFT + F5 however, after I have the area that I want to fill selected with the Lasso Tool, nothing happens when I try to use the SHIFT + F5 keyboard command.

I end up having to select EDIT and then select FILL and then select CONTENT AWARE FILL

    Am I doing something wrong?

In CS6 you can change shortcut keys. You could try using the shortcut key settings menu to make fill Shift + F5 just in case it has been cleared or you could make it a completely different and easier key if you use it often.

Richard - I assume you have tried the usual trick of restarting Photoshop and if this doesn't work doing a cold restart of your computer? Every so often (i.e. very infrequently, perhaps every few months) I find that something goes wrong in Photoshop and restarting it or sometimes even the computer is required to get things back to normal.

I always use the keyboard shortcut you are asking about and have never run into issues with it. If that doesn't work, trying what Paul suggests would be worth looking into.

Thanks again for the help and the ideas. I think what I will do is to record and action that will open the EDIT choose FILL and then select CONTENT AWARE FILL...
