    He or she wouldn't let me get anywhere near to true macro. But all in all, I'm happy. I did try to keep it bright even though it was shot in the shade

    The iridescent body has a nice glow, and you have the whole fly in focus. Looks great.

    Very good Brian it's a fine image.

    I had to have a play with this to see if there was more scope to enhance it. My interpretation, cropped it closer 3 x 2, locally increased sharpness/clarity on the head and body without touching the edges and cleaned out the imperfections on the leaf.

    Ah, back to the bugs, Brian. This one seems so delicate and with great detail. I really like it. Being somewhat obsessive, I would have cloned out the poo ------- but here is real life, in the Raw!

    Exactly. Historically this species of fly has been on my radar since the Fujifilm S4200. Then it was a strangely coloured fly that made me feel the need for greater detail. Now it's a beautiful fly that pushes me to develop the needed skills to capture it properly
