Blue Angel Bummer
My photo club attended the U.S. Navy Blue Angels practice at their base of Naval Air Facility El Centro, California. We have a great location for the shoot right at the end of the runway, outside the fence. The planes fly over us so close that you could almost reach up and touch them.
Until today, that is I woke up at 4:30 am in order to make the 130 mile drive to the Naval Air Facility...
The planes took off and made one pass over our heads and then returned and landed. The cockpit harness of one of the aircraft was defective. So they scrubbed the missions for today.
I only got two keepers...
Oh well, I have captured some decent images in years past...

Nice ones, at least it wasn't a total loss and hopefully you turned the opportunity into a bit of street/crowd photography.

Re: Blue Angel Bummer
Actually, I found out that the Naval Air Facility El Centro is having an airshow in March. I will think about attending it...
Tomorrow, Saturday, I am tossed up between attending the last Hawkwatch presentation of the season and attending the local Vietnamese Tet celebration. If I feel up to it, I just might try to do both
