    Old house interior

I rarely venture inside the old houses or barns I shot images of For some reason I find it a boundary I will not cross. For this I poked the camera in the window

An interesting photo! It looks as if someone got there before you did.

When I was a youngster you couldn't keep me out of derelict structures, today there are more dangers than just creaky floor boards. Nicely captured and nice warm colors that offer such a contrast to the condition of the place.

As a kid in post-WWII London, England, there were many "bombed houses" to explore; magnets for kids like me.

Back then, I had no concept of the human tragedy involved.

Thanks for the votes of confidence, i will have to try breaking the psychologic barrier as it will allow another dimension to shooting these old structures.

Personally I find such high respect for the memories and the energies refreshing.

I like this image. BTW, around here, planners and the like call this sort of thing "ruin porn".

What do you think about evening out the tonality a bit, toning the contrast down just a tad? For example, I just did a quick dodge in the top left and a slight burn in the center. I probably should have done the bright area on the right too. This is just a first quick step, but it seems to me that this sort of change might help. What do you think?

You make a good point. I should have darkened the bright wood in the upper left as it draws the eye away. The other suggestions I will consider. Thanks for the input.

I actually did the reverse— lightened the top left and darkened the center, to lessen the contrast. I hunk that even brightened a bit, it’s dark enough not to draw the eye. But just a thought

I must have flipped the images ten times to see what you had changed. Could not see a lot of difference, so I must have imposed my own prejudices on it.
