It's All About Perspective
A couple of vertical horizon shots. Taken looking straight up. Tough on my neck but worth it.
When I first started taking photos someone told me that sometimes the best picture is behind you. Good advice. So I try to look up, look down, look behind me and look from different perspectives. Sometimes you get something interesting.
Thanks for looking. Always trying to improve so C&C is always appreciated.

Nice shots. Just happens to be what I was doing this afternoon. And your right, not a lot of people looking up.

Re: It's All About Perspective
These are exactly the sort of architectural shots I enjoy taking and looking at for ideas. Both have impact, they grab your attention but much as I like the first one the blown highlights in the clouds kill it for me. Its always going to be difficult to cover the range of light in a shot like this so as far as I am concerned the only solution is a bracketed shot with exposure range, -2, 0 1 and +2. That way you can layer them in PP and paint in the details of the blown clouds from the -2 shot. And if there are any sections that need a little more light you can use the +2 shot without the risk of introducing noise in the shadows.

Great shots.
Re blown highlights: I loaded #1 into Photoshop, and it looks like the amount of the clouds that is clipped is very small. I'm not ata good monitor now, but I am guessing that it is the area on the right side. The clipping doesn't look severe, so if you shot these in raw, you may be able to go back to the raw image and recover at least some of that area.
I'd consider lightening the shadows a the bottom of #1. Here is a quick and dirty, just to show what I mean:

Two very nice images.
Looking up is a favourite approach of mine, although the people I am with tend to find it embarrassing when I lie on the ground and point my camera straight up....
That being said, I find both images are just a tiny bit flat. Check your black point and white point.
