Welcome to CiC! You will find us a diverse community of enthusiasts spanning the globe and a wide range of skillsets, including some extremely expert photographers who are happy to share their experience, and love to nurture new photographers.
Just so we can address you more appropriately, can you double click your name icon (on the left), go to the About Me tab and fill in some of the details, especially a name you prefer to be called?
You might want to check out this link: As far as flash capability goes, the 6D and 600d should be similar, hence I think this may be helpful.

Many thanks Trev
I will have a little play now and see how it works (or not).
Thanks again.

It depends what you mean by "function properly".
That Flash Unit is equipped with A-TTL. The 60D is not equipped with A-TTL. Therefore, literally the 430EZ will not work 'properly' (meaning it will not have access to all its functionality.
The short answer is you can use the 430EZ in Manual Mode, with your 60D.

There is often confusion separating CAMERA functionality and FLASH functionality, so, below are two extracts which should assist this understanding.
1. Synopsis of a 430EZ used with EOS Digital Cameras
"Speedlite 430EZ:
An upgraded 420EZ . . . Supports A-TTL in P AV and Tv Modes . . .Often confused with the 430EX. The 430 EZ is available inexpensively and is a reasonable flash unit for all manual operation."

2. Synopsis of the development of Canon TTL and the differentiation between Camera and Flash Functionality (my bold and underlined for emphasis):
“. . . the first camera with evaluative autoflash metering was launched, EX-series Speedlites were introduced to make use of the E-TTL metering. These EX-series Speedlites are also compatible with TTL flash metering, so will operate with all EOS models.
"All the new film cameras offering E-TTL metering retain the flash sensors for A-TTL metering, so are also compatible with EZ-series Speedlites.
"When Canon introduced digital EOS models, they omitted the flash sensors in the base of the camera (the sensor reflects light differently to film). This means that EZ-series Speedlites can only be used in manual mode with EOS digital cameras.
"Canon updated E-TTL flash metering in 2005. E-TTL II is a camera feature, not a Speedlite feature, though it only operates with EX-series Speedlites.”
