Late last night I played with this shot listening to Almost Blue, need some help

This was shot in color and switched over in Capture 1 v11. Last night I was using the grey scale mask to refine the masking. I found that the grey scale mask made a beautiful foggy shot with the blossom just emerging from the mist. This morning I found that the grey scale mask would not export. So I put Miles Davis 'Almost Blue' back on and went back to work. This is the result:

Late last night I played with this shot listening to Almost Blue, need some help

can anyone suggest a way to transform the bg into roiling mist/fog using either capture 1 v11 or Gimp or both?

Masks never export - they are not part of the image, but rather a way that the software shows you the selection you have made. The effect that you see is purely coincidental.

Nice effort, you could change the background using another one of your shots, didn't you do a foggy photo recently?
