    Cocktail

    I was setting up a quick shot to do a noise reference test, and thought I could do something a little more since I already had my 'models' posed. A little reorganization of the 'models' led to these shots. C&C welcome.

    #2 - 1/100sec @ f/25, ISO100 & 120mm (Same stats, rearrangement of flash & different PP)
    Cocktail

    #3 (#2 Alternate) - 1/100sec @ f/25, ISO100 & 120mm (Same stats as # with different PP)
    Cocktail

    Edited for spelling... I promise, I haven't had one... yet.

    Hi Julius,

    Neither composition/crop is really working for me I'm afraid, they're too 'busy';
    #1 has bright and/or colourful things dotted all over the frame, most disappearing off the edges, my eyes dart around and cannot settle or determine what I should be seeing.
    #3 is somewhat similar, also - there's not much going on towards the right hand side - and yet it is not sufficiently blank to qualify as "negative space", nor does it 'balance' what is there on left.

    In #3, I can see a composition that works better for me; crop 48% off right hand side, just excluding crest on rear silver bottle, also crop left hand side to just leave "ED" on the red label. That makes the image about the two coloured labels reflecting in the foreground bottle's curves.

    Simplification is key I feel.

    I do hope you find my thoughts helpful,
    Dave

    Thanks, Nandakumar and Dave for the feedback.

    I tried the crop you suggested, Dave. Have a look below. I'm not unhappy with the result, but ultimately feel like it misses the mark of what I was going for. I can see based on your feedback how the original does the same, though... so it's back out to work on more.

    Thanks.
