Sunday was a warm and sunny early Autumn day and we all headed off to the Nanup Music Festival for the afternoon. It was warm enough to make me leave the bag of photo goodies in the house, and only take the D750 with the 24-85 lens.
The music was largely folk and country, but some of it was a bit loud and electronic for an old school fan like me (whatever happened to Joan Baez?). The crowds were small by city standards but large enough to create a buzz around the town.
This first is of a performer more to my taste. It was shot from outside the tent, f/11, 85mm, ISO 1000, and 1/30s. It's not soul music but she certainly put all her heart and soul into it.
Soul singer:
The second is of a more modern style duo, but after trying all I could to get a shot of them with no heads in the way, I decided this one captured the overall atmosphere best. f/10, 80mm. 1/60s, ISO 1250
Hats and singers:
The third and last catches some of the visitors and vendors. I was shooting into a bright sky but with the strong late afternoon sun behind me. I shot a few of this scene with a narrower aperture but like this one best f/11, 78mm, 1/250s, ISO 250.
