Project 52: Week 13, Moorhen taking off

I joined the RSPB at the end of last year and have been visiting some of their nearer reserves. On Sunday, it was Lochwinnoch's turn, but ... it was delightful early Spring weather and site was running a family day, resulting in there being more people than birds.

A pleasant 3km walk along the main trail yielded nothing worth clicking as did the 10 minute meander along the minor walk. However, just before the end of the path on the way back, this moorhen appeared from the reeds:

As you say Bill, 'A pleasant walk ....'. The beauty about being outside in nature is that even if you don't get any shots, you've had a wonderful time.

I like this one Bill. You've not only captured the bird in flight but the after affects of the water splashes from the moorhen's effort to take off! Amazing!

If you are not "ever ready" you won't ever get such a shot!!! superb; in this case less space in front and more space in back helps to translate the quickness of the bird
