Bright orange tiny spider

Two mm wide means that this is a small spider. The hairs on it are minuscule. It is a fine test for the flash on the Sony Alpha a68.The flash was set to default and it worked reasonably well. I'll test the flash adjustments another day.

I have also got to say that I have shot this species hundreds of times. At the start all I got was an orange blob. With the Sony Alpha a58 connected to the Tamron 90 it looked a lot better. The a68 plus Tamron 90mm takes the shot to a new level.

The spider seems to reside in a blob state, nicely exposed to reveal the rich color.

The a68 seems to do very well in the deep dark colors. it has a JPEG filter named 'Deep' that might take it deeper and richer.

I am pretty certain that this diffuser could be fabricated using the plastic from a milk container, tracing paper or some other translucent diffusing material. Anyway, it might be worth playing with...

Nicely done, Brian. The black BG was a perfect choice.

Only a choice as in not changing it. With the flash this was simply the bg colour that was created from the greenery behind the spider.

I have come up with a diffuser but I was curious how the in camera default setting would work.
