    ISO 100 ~ Shutter Speed 1/200s. (yes 1 over 200) ~ F/5 Natural Light

After all the bright reds and yellows this was hard to wrap my head around

Reds? Are we looking at the same picture?

The bright areas in both upper corners are quite distracting.

Manfred, I think that Brian is referring to the several posts (for example this) he made before this one, many of which feature a lot of red in the subject matter.

The histogram, levels and curves all show it nicely in the middle. However I did tone it down a teeny tad to eliminate glare

Not if you are seeing two quite distracting bright areas in the top corners.

Perhaps a little bit of selective lighting adjustment would help direct attention to the anther more.

Brian - if I see them, so do others. Bright areas near the edge of the frame tend to draw the viewer's eyes away from the subject and out of the frame.

You've run into the problem I did... dimming down the bg tends to make it look a little gray or perhaps the term would be muddy? But the anther certainly draws more attention

The corners have brighter areas but they also have darker areas. I will try again. Footloose has brought ut the anther more but it seems a muddier bg to me.

I went back and darkened the corners while boldening up the anther.
