    Some Landscapes: Waterfront at Biarritz

Here are a few images from our trip to Europe last fall. We spent three nights in Biarritz, France. Without necessarily planning to do so I shot more or less the same scene several times under dramatically different lighting conditions.

Interesting study of the location. Each shot is dramatically different; I like #2 with the softness and colour of the sky and the softness of the sea.

I've always had a bit of a soft spot for lighthouses too.

Great shots. The second image is a bit different. I like it a lot.

Thanks for commenting, folks. The ocean conditions were really rough while we were there. As a matter of fact it was so rough that parts of the waterfront access were closed to public access. I couldn't get out to the promontory where I wanted to set up to shoot. The second shot was a 15s exposure pre-sunrise.

I like all three... Each is different but, lovely in its own way! But, if I were forced to choose one, then probably #2 would be that candidate. Both for the color and for the compression between the lighthouse promontory and the rock in the foreground. I don't seem to be able to keep an EXIF viewer working. Did you shoot #2 at a longer focal length?
