Shoot out at the OK(anagan) corral

If (or when) I ever retire we will be moving to the Okanagan Valley in southern British Columbia. I spent a week at our house there in April.

Found two old corrals, one in the valley bottom in a marshy area and the other in the desert area. Will make the transition easier as I still have some old agricultural stuff (a genre I am familiar with) to shoot while I try other subjects.

Plenty of rich material to photograph.

So much rich material that I will be posting 100 or more shots I took of each corral (Only joking, maybe post one or two. However not joking about the 100's of shots; got a bit carried away.)

#2 for me as well. Good lighting , composition and processing bring that shot together quite nicely. Shot #1 is just too busy and the tones blend together too much, for my taste.

Good points. I will admit the first was a bad choice for black and white. Really not the proper tonal range to be conducive to processing method And the depth of field only compounds the issue with the incredibly busy background

Here both issues are amended. Note amended not solved, still a busy background but when I shot at a wider aperture the sagebrush behind the corral was just enough out of focus to be really obnoxious
