Beauty Dish
I have always coveted a beauty dish but, many of them were too expensive and a DIY beauty dish is kind of rinky- dink.
I just purchased a used 22 inch beauty dish in perfect shape. It came with a Unbranded studio strobe with Bowens mount. The strobe also had a 7.5 inch reflector. Additionally in the package was a Britek PS300H strobe with 6.5 inch reflector, snoot and grip. Plus a nice light stand and three shoot through unbrellas (two of them Smith Victor brand).
I was at a Britek presentation this morning at George's Camera, San Diego. Their products have certainly improved in general quality.
Realizing that these two strobes would not be a choice for 5-day a week and 52 weeks a year shooting but, they do will quite nicely. As I said the stand is quite solid and the three umbrellas are in pristine shape.
The guy wanted to sell me a 4-light Speedotron strobe set with transformer for $200 and a Calumet two light set with a 48 inch strip softbox for $250.
