Nicely done. I do like the color - was this the actual color balance?
I added one more.
Re color balance: it's hard to say. The lighting was mixed, initially both evening light and mixed electric lighting. The former was mostly gone by the end of the shoot. The electric lighting was mostly quite warm, although it's hard to imagine it was tungsten in this day and age. So the colors were increasingly warm as the evening went on. I shot raw at a fixed 5200 degrees for an initial rendering and then cooled them off to taste, individually. The only other change is that the shot of barrels had a slight greenish tint, so I moved it slightly toward magenta.
More great images Dan. Again, the warm tones suit as the materials used in this this facility used a lot of wood, brass and copper. It looks like a massive steam engine was used to drive the pumps; I can make out a centrifugal governor typically used in that type of equipment in the second shot (which is my favourite of the set).
Nice additions to the concept.
Nicely captured, Dan. I like them all.
These are very good photographs.
Cheers Ole
Thanks for the comments. I am intrigued by this kind of photography, and I am keeping my eyes out for additional opportunities.
Like the machinery a lot. Just for grins and giggles, if your editing program has the means, go into your red channel and add a HSB adj layer with a pop to both the red and yellow sliders...
A bit bigger than bugs and flowers ... And very nicely done, I like them all.
You should be able to selectively mask "problem" WB areas and adjust individually. It might be worth a go making a B&W conversion and seeing how that goes (as an additional, not "instead of", option).
