I spent the day editing and preparing five B&W images as large (17" x22" / roughly A2 size) and printing them. The mats are done and I still have to cut the backing boards and then mount them.

Nice series, the first and last have somewhat robotic facial features, are these extensions of gargoyles in architecture?

They are closeups of decorative architectural elements, much like what can be seen in Image 3. They are attached to the exterior walls. These buildings / features are just over 100 years old.

These appeal to me greatly, particularly the staircase images which I have a particular fascination with... something to do with 'spirals' I think

All good, but I particularly like #4 because of the interesting designs superimposed on the geometric form of the staircase.

It looks to me that #4 is tilted very slightly clockwise.

Thanks Dan - it is indeed tilted slightly. I did that on purpose during the edit to add a tiny bit of an edge to the shot.

To James. To be pedantic the staircases are in effect helical not spiral ( Think watch springs )

You are quite correct, but being involved for many years in architectural aspects of buildings and their , they are rarely referred to as 'helical' whether technically correct or not.
