    That's an awesome shot, Chris. Well composed, technically well executed, and a great position on the bird. Really nicely done.

    Are those some kind of eggs attached to the grass?

    I'll go with that.

    Pity about that bit of the plant coming down behind the beak. You could try getting rid of it if you wanted to. But capturing the concentration of the bird is so well done and showing it in context (a bit of the environment) is vital for telling the story.

    It is a fine shot but I am confused. Aren't Green Herons supposed to have a green look to what I'm seeing as blue feathers? Could well be my eyes or my monitor

    I could and gave it thought but it adds context to the setting so I chose to leave it in..I did take out an OOF water lily bulb, though

    He is in his full blown mating attire, thus the different coloration. Also, it was a balmy, overcast, foggy day and the sun was at best intermittent which on a Green Heron kills a lot of the variation in the greens. Your monitor is just fine
